So, this is the day, the last day at Google, tomorrow going back to Mexico. I decided to give a try for the next 2-3 months, however December is a horrible month, many companies are not even taking resumes (they usually reply you with a “no thanks” or asking for a technical interview).
But what I learned? Lot of things really, in the professional and personal fields:
* It’s always a pleasure to work with teams, but more pleasure to work with two wonderful guys, Chito and Jorge, I learned that teams, there are a lot, loyalty teams are not so many. I say thanks again to Chito and Jorge.
* Living a recession is always difficult, living a recession in a country that is supposedly a “top-country” and its economy is going at extreme velocity to the sewers, that sucks.
* Lot of awesome technology, clustering, python (a pleasure to get Python readability in a such Pythonized company like Google) and hackish tricks (like LD_PRELOAD).
* Could make the full-timer team survive by their own, they are doing a pretty good job after all this, I’m sure that that at beginning of January they will be so independent and makes me happy 
, you rock!
* Learned to have lot of patience and be “ethically correct” with decisions rather than “politically correct” (that after using it too much tends to $%@#$% people).
* Found I can live in other cultures, would like to try again, here at California, NY, Canada or Europe.
* Helping people and great teams always makes the “other side” angry and upset, but that’s life, and I care most of the time of the good stuff.
* Learned too many things that my parents told me, some stuff is different now-days, for other stuff I found how correct they are, I think I’ll find my self more confident when talking specially to my dad.
Overall I’m sad and will be for the next weeks, but what makes me forget this sadness is when I remember we (as a team) prepared another team to do their own stuff and they are doing it pretty good, I’m proud we were helpful for more than one person and team.
I’ll really miss you guys.
